Our committee members are all volunteers with a diverse set of skills, they are dedicated to keeping CATS on the road and serving the local communities with transport to access local hubs to carry out every day essential services or attend medical appointments.
CATS are always looking for new members to join the committee who have a desire to help their local community and shape the future of CATS.

All our volunteer drivers are DBS checked and Midas Trained.
CATS is always looking for new drivers either to drive one of our vehicles or their own (expenses paid). Please contact the office for more information

Volunteering can be hugely rewarding, and there are many benefits:
· It’s a great way to make new friends and connect with local people
· You can increase your social skills and self-confidence
· It can provide you with a sense of purpose
· Help you to stay active
Volunteering is an excellent way for you to give back to your local community. Our aim is to promote individual independence, help reduce isolation and loneliness for people in our local community and our team of volunteers are integral to our success.
Volunteers enable our members to get out of their homes and do things for themselves, our services are a lifeline for our members.
More about the services you will be helping to support
Volunteer Cars is a one-to-one car service driven by volunteers who use their car or our MPV, to drive local people where they want to go. If you are using your own vehicle you will be paid 45p per mile.
Door to Door is a multi-occupancy service using our wheelchair accessible minibus taking people to go shopping, attend medical appointments or lunch clubs etc.,
How it works
You can offer as much time as you like, fitting the commitment into your plans.
The volunteer Cars are similar to a taxi service. We receive a booking from a member and then call you to check if you can assist. We then give you the details of who to collect, when and where they want to go, and away you go. It’s that simple!
Door to Door Services you inform us when and for how long you wish to help, we will then prepare your schedule and route. All bookings are pre-booked by the office and the details given to you the day prior to working.
Our members are often elderly, they might be disabled, and mostly just need a hand to get out and about, to do what they need to do.
Volunteers are essential to the success of CATS for more information about volunteering please contact us on 01728 830516.
